About
Heritage Woodsmith
Built With Purpose. Made to Last.
Heritage Woodsmith was created from a lifelong appreciation for wood — and a renewed sense of purpose found in working with it.
Every piece begins with patience and respect for the material, allowing the grain, color, and natural variation of each board to guide the process. Rather than rushing production, I focus on thoughtful craftsmanship — creating wood products meant to be used, enjoyed, and cared for as they grow richer with time.
The Maker
Heritage Woodsmith is veteran owned and operated.
My time in service shaped the discipline, patience, and attention to detail that guide my work today. I Honorably Discharged in Dec of 2006,
In the years that followed, I became a stay-at-home father, dedicating myself fully to raising my children and building a home centered on stability, care, and presence. From 2006 forward, my focus was on family — watching my kids grow, guiding them into adulthood, and eventually becoming a proud grandfather to seven incredible grandchildren.
As the years passed and my children built lives of their own, I found myself stepping into a quieter chapter — one that left me asking what I was meant to build next.
It was my family who encouraged me to return to something I had always loved: working with my hands.
They saw the craftsmanship I had developed over the years.
They believed in the skill I carried.
And they reminded me that it was never too late to pursue purpose.
That encouragement became the foundation for Heritage Woodsmith.
Today, the same values that shaped my service and my years as a father — patience, discipline, pride in workmanship, and respect for the process — live on in every piece I create.
This work is steady, intentional, and deeply personal.
Not because it has to be…
But because it deserves to be.
Why Wood Still Matters
Wood has a way of reminding us to slow down.
It carries warmth, character, and individuality that no manufactured material can replace. Each mark, grain pattern, and color variation tells a story — no two pieces are ever exactly alike. With care, wood doesn’t wear out — it grows more beautiful, developing depth and character that only time can create.
At Heritage Woodsmith, hardwoods are chosen thoughtfully, with attention to how they will look, feel, and perform over years of use. These pieces are meant to live alongside you — becoming familiar, reliable, and uniquely yours.
From My Shop to Your Home
What begins in my shop is made for the spaces where life happens.
While many pieces are designed for the kitchen, others are created for the home and outdoor spaces as well — items meant to be used daily, gathered around, and appreciated over time. Whether indoors or out, each piece is crafted with the same care, allowing it to settle naturally into its place and become part of your routine.
Handcrafted, One Piece at a Time
I personally craft, finish, and inspect every item that leaves the shop.
There are no assembly lines and no shortcuts — just steady hands, quality materials, and an appreciation for the process.
When you bring a piece from Heritage Woodsmith into your home, you’re not just buying an object. You’re welcoming in something made with care, intention, and respect for the material it came from.
